Online gaming is going to be revolutionised LucasArts, the gaming arm of 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas' enterprise, has intentions to "revolutionise" the entire online gaming sector.

Although no official statement has been made to that effect, the news was leaked in a job advertisement released by the company. In it, LucasArts (perhaps unintentionally) revealed its plans for the future.

"LucasArts is building a large-scale online services and infrastructure to support a new way of connected online gaming that is going to revolutionise the industry," the advert read, cited by Nowgamer.com.

Making reference to the specific role's part in these plans, it continued: "This position is one of the most senior positions and plays a critical part in the success of the online group at LucasArts."

Details regarding this revolution remain vague at this stage, however speculation from websites like Strategyinformer.com has been rife. It suggested that perhaps LucasArts is playing its own attack on games like 'Call of Duty: Elite' or 'Halo Waypoint'; creating a unique online portal upon which sci-fi fans can play future LucasArts titles.

It has also been confirmed that LucasArts wishes to recruit engineers for an "action/adventure title", which will be on "future console and PC hardware." This led Strategyinformer.com to also intimate that LucasArts may have had a sneak peek at what the next generation of gaming consoles will look like - beyond the anticipated Wii U.
