E-commerce has the ability to "simplify life", according to a new study.
'Shopping 4.0', a report conducted by Deutsche Post DHL, claims that e-commerce significantly improves quality of life and makes shopping more fun than usual, cites Supply Chain Standard.
Shoppers in Germany were asked for their opinions on the way e-commerce improves quality of life and 41 per cent claim online shopping is more fun, while 63 per cent claim it is less stressful than popping to the shops.
In addition, 81 per cent believe e-commerce allows them to better manage their time. The speed and ease involved in navigating e-commerce, with reliable website hosting playing an integral role, allows customers to get their shopping out of the way easier than ever before.
Over 50 per cent of respondents look forward to receiving their item in the post; claiming they experience an "emotional high" when their online purchase is delivered - akin to "receiving a gift".
Jurgen Gerdes, member of the management board and responsible for the MAIL Division at Deutsche Post DHL, commented on the report on Logistics Manager: "E-commerce has to be convenient for everyone involved - both for sellers and for buyers.
"For us, the result is a clear mandate from our customers: We need to guide our customers in the digital world as well and enable them to have convenient and safe access to the internet," he added.
