Last week a consortium including PEER 1 Hosting and Dell, Citrix and Rackspace launched OpenStack™. The goal of OpenStack is to allow any organisation to create and offer cloud computing capabilities, using open source software running on standard hardware. We believe that this will drive industry standards and prevent vendor lock-in, which in turn should speed up the pace of cloud innovation.
